Monel 400 Material is made up of carbon, aluminum, manganese, silicon, iron, sulfur and 28% copper along the nickel base. This composition provides the Monel 400 Tube with excellent mechanical properties and physical properties. Monel 400 Material has 240MPa minimum yield strength and 550MPa minimum tensile strength.
Monel 400 Pipe has a high melting point of 1350 degrees Celsius and therefore it can operate under elevated temperature applications. The specifications are ASTM B165 and B725 for this grade of nickel-copper alloy. There are seamless, welded, ERW, and fabricated tubes and pipes. The ASME SB165 Monel 400 Seamless Pipe comes under ASTM, ASME, and API standards with sizes ranging from 15 inches to 150 inches in nominal bore size.
Monel 400 Pipe ranges from 6.35mm to 254mm in outer diameter and the wall thickness ranges from 0.6mm to 20mm. Monel 400 Tube can be round pipes or hydraulic Alloy 400 ERW Pipe types. Monel 400 Seamless Pipe also comes with plain end, beveled end, and treaded end types.
Monel Alloy 400 Seamless Pipes offer an inferior cost option to commercially untainted Nickel because of the Copper content.
