ASTM A 789 / A 790 Duplex Steel Pipes & Tubes Manufacturer, Exporter & Suppliers, Duplex Steel Seamless Pipes & Tubes, Duplex Steel Welded Pipes & Tubes, ERW Pipes Suppliers in India.
Duplex pipes combine austenitic and ferritic stainless steel nano-grains, giving them superior strength and corrosion resistance compared to regular carbon steel pipes. Their high strength-to-weight ratio makes them an ideal choice for applications requiring low weight with added strength. At the same time, their corrosion protection also keeps them viable in highly corrosive environments. Duplex pipes are also resistant to localized corrosion, such as pitting and crevice attack, making them preferred over carbon steel properties. Additionally, duplex pipes have good weldability; they can be processed into tight radius bends without any loss of mechanical properties or corrosion resistance. This makes duplex pipes suitable for use not only in onshore/offshore pipelines but also in many industrial applications where higher levels of reliability are necessary.
The duplex steel pipe is a piping system that connects two pipes to form one continuous line. It usually consists of two metal pipes made from galvanized steel or copper, joined with welded joints. The DSS Pipes are particularly useful in applications where higher pressures and flows need to be maintained. The advantages of duplex pipes include their ability to handle higher temperatures, greater strength than traditional single-pipe systems, reduced pressure losses due to the dual piping design, improved corrosion resistance, and cost savings associated with installation. It also performs better due to the increased flow rate of the second pipe’s presence
Duplex Pipe Supplier
Amardeep Steel is a leading supplier of Duplex Stainless Steel Pipe. We produce duplex pipes in all 3 categories; the standard duplex, super duplex, and lean duplex. These are respectively stronger and more corrosion-resistant categories. The duplex steel pipe is strong. It is almost twice as strong as the austenitic and ferritic steel grades. The duplex ss pipe has excellent corrosion resistance and heat resistance properties. Duplex Stainless Steel Seamless Pipe and other types have high yield strengths making them available in thinner wall thicknesses.
Duplex Stainless Steel Pipe Grades
Grade 2205: 2205 Duplex Stainless Steel Pipe is the most common duplex stainless steel grade, known for its excellent corrosion resistance and high strength.
Grade 2507: Known as a super duplex, it offers superior corrosion resistance and strength, suitable for harsh environments.
Grade 2304: A lean duplex grade that provides good performance at a lower cost.
Duplex Pipe Specification
Duplex stainless steel pipes have a variety of specifications, including:

FAQs
1. How thick is the duplex pipe?
Duplex pipes come in a range of thicknesses. For example, round Duplex stainless steel pipes can have outer diameters ranging from 6 mm to 630 mm, with wall thicknesses between 0.5 mm and 30 mm. Known for their excellent resistance to chloride ion stress corrosion, Duplex steel pipes are commonly used in applications such as rotary shafts, blades, press rolls, and impellers.
2. What is a duplex pipe made of?
A duplex pipe is made from a Fe-Ni-Cr alloy, which has a two-phase microstructure consisting of both ferritic and austenitic stainless steel at room temperature. Duplex steels are defined by their high chromium content (19–28%) and molybdenum (up to 5%), with lower nickel levels compared to austenitic stainless steels. This composition provides Duplex pipes with excellent strength and corrosion resistance.
3. What is the material grade of duplex pipe?
The most commonly used material grades for Duplex stainless steel pipes are 2205 (with 22% Chromium and 5% Nickel) and 2507 (with 25% Chromium and 7% Nickel). Grade 2507, also known as "super duplex," offers enhanced corrosion resistance, making it ideal for more demanding environments.
4. What is the ASME code for duplex pipes?
The ASME code for Duplex stainless steel pipes, specifically for Duplex 2205, is ASME SA790. These pipes are suitable for general corrosive applications, with excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking. Duplex pipes are available in seamless forms with nominal bore sizes ranging from ½ inch to 12 inches. For larger diameters, ASTM A790 specifies Duplex stainless steel welded pipes, with schedule options from sch20 to sch80.
