What is APH tube?
Air Preheaters (APH) are Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers that are used to heat the air before it
goes into the boiler or furnaces/kilns to burn fuels. The main job of an air pre-heater is to
take heat from the flue gases coming out of the boiler.
Air Pre Heater Tubes are produced by the renowned company Amardeep Steel Centre from premium raw
materials bought from reliable suppliers. We make these tubes with state-of-the-art equipment in
accordance with national and international quality standards. Our Air Pre Heater Tubes are
offered in a range of shapes, widths, thicknesses, and customizable specifications to fulfil the

By minimising the quantity of usable heat lost in the flue gas, the air preheater increases the
thermal efficiency of the boiler by recovering heat from the flue gas. Shell and tube heat
exchangers called air preheaters (APH) are used to pre-heat the air supplied to boilers, furnaces,
and kilns for fuel combustion.
The Air Pre heater's main objective is to gather waste heat from the
flue gases leaving the boiler. Air Pre Heater Tubes must also meet requirements for elongation,
hardness, yield strength, and tensile strength.
APH Tubes are offered with welded or seamless ends in hot rolled or cold drawn shapes. The size and
quality of APH ERW tubes are determined by the boiler design, which is based on the fuel type,
temperatures, pressures, and needed steam volume.
Our Air Pre Heater ERW Tubes are frequently used in the construction and upkeep of boilers in power
plants and process industries, including the chemical, sugar, power, steel, cooling tower, super
heater, paper, and air heater industries.
To ensure that our products meet or exceed industry requirements for quality, we also give priority
to product testing. Our APH Tubes are subjected to third-party inspection tests, PMI testing, raw
material testing, intergranular corrosion testing, pitting resistance testing, flaring/flattening
testing, and other inspections.
Types of Air Preheaters (APH)

Working of Air Preheaters (APH)
In air preheaters, which have a shell and tube architecture, the exhaust heat from the flue gases is
transferred to the air when they come into indirect contact with one another.
A shell with tubes arranged in a square or triangular configuration and welded to a tube plate makes
up an air preheater. Depending on the type of operation and ease of cleaning, flue gases and air can
alternately be allowed to go shell side or tube side.
Hermodyne Boilers' finned tube air preheaters are made to increase efficiency by increasing the
heating surface area without requiring more space.
Custom air preheaters are built by Thermodyne Engineering Systems to the specifications of the
customer.
Our Air Preheaters are constructed in 1 and 2 pass designs for both flue gases and air to maximise
the amount of heat extracted from the flue gases.

Air Preheater Tube Pros:
• The maximum waste heat may be extracted from flue gases leaving the boiler using
a two-pass design.
• It is used to capture waste heat from flue gases that are being expelled from the
boiler, increasing boiler efficiency by 2% to 3%.
• By warming the fuel, it improves the boiler's effectiveness.
• There is a quicker payback time.
Air Preheater Tube Cons:
• A decrease in flue gas pressure brought on by the addition of equipment or accessories increases the size of the induced draught fan.
